Outgoing RPD Formally Hands Over

On Friday August 12, 2022, HW Amos Kwizera, the new Inspector of Courts formally handed over the Registry of Planning, Research, and Development to HW Flavia Nabakooza.

The handover took place at the Registry premises on George Street in Kampala.

HW Kwizera briefly highlighted the mandate of the Registry that is established under the Administration of the Judiciary Act 2020 and the functions are also approved by the Top Management to initiate and monitor the development of the Judiciary Strategic Plan, provide input in the preparation of the budget framework paper, entrusted in monitoring the implementation of the strategic plan, making the performance report among others.

He added that to fully perform the mandate of the Registry, there was need to closely work with the Planning and Policy Unit headed by the Principal Economist, Mr Simon Peter Opolot.

He added that the Registry is a secretariat to two critical committees that is the Terms and Conditions of Service on the implementation of the AJA and the Performance Enhancement Committee.

"I want like to appreciate the Top Management especially the Chief Registrar who found it fit to entrust me with this office. We call it a kitchen being that all the plans, budgets, allocations are done here. So you are always preparing to deliver," HW Kwizera said.

He added that it was no mean responsibility to prepare food for all Staff of the Judiciary. 

The incoming RPD, HW Nabakooza, thanked her predecessor for warm reception and promised to do her best in the execution of her mandate. "Your Worship I thank you for ushering me in, you even introduced me to some of the meetings like SGBV...I thank you and promise to work well with the team and promise that since I am in the kitchen, your plate will always be full to perform your mandate," she said.

The handover was witnessed by the Deputy Registrar, HW John Paul Edoku, Ms Apophia Tumwine, the Commissioner Human Resource, Mr Joseph Ssinabulya, Senior Information Technology Officer, Senior Statisticians; Mr Ronald Mumbere and Mr Isaac Bbossa Sserunkuma.
